Cynthia Buonfiglio, Owner

Miss Cynthia is a graduate of North Shore Community College. She has completed training courses directed by the Dance Educators of America and Dance Olympus. She has studied intensely under one of Boston Ballet's principal ballerinas, Laura Young. During her forty year dance career Miss Cynthia has studied with the Deanne School of Dance, North Shore Community College, and the Salem Ballet Company, where she was the principal dancer. She has also studied with the Dance Masters of America company. Miss Cynthia has taught professionally at the Deane School of Dancing under the direction of Helen and Georgia Deane and at the Devereaux School in Marblehead, MA. She has taught Creative Movement classes for various schools such as St. John's of Peabody and Little Darlings for many years, most recently accepting a teaching appointment at the Salem Academy Charter School. Miss Cynthia has been the choreographer for the St. John's of Peabody annual musical production for many years. Miss Cynthia has competed and been successful in many areas of competition winning awards at the local, regional, and national levels. Miss Cynthia founded Dance, etc. in 1983 with her life long friend Jody Shea. Her love of dance, students, and teaching has grown since that time.

Andrea Berube

Miss Andrea has been teacher at Dance, etc. for many years. She has danced since the age of three and continues to dance as a member of our Senior Company. Miss Andrea's talents and love of children has added much to Dance, etc. Miss Andrea continues her education in dance by attending many workshops throughout New England. Miss Andrea is a graduate of the Catherine Hinds School of Esthetics and is a licensed esthetician. When not teaching at Dance, etc. Miss Andrea is employed by Hogan Regional Center where she works with people who have developmental disabilities. Miss Andrea is married and has a dog named Lucas.

 

Joan Wilkins

Miss Joan has been teaching dance for over twenty years on the North Shore. She is currently studying at Gene Murray's School of Dance and has attended Northeastern University. She is CPR certified and has her own business as a CPR instructor also working as an instructor for Salem Hospital. Miss Joan also runs a gymnastic program for the City of Peabody and is a Special Olympics coach. She is a wife and a mother to three beautiful daughters.

Scott Wentzell

Mr. Scott has been dancing for nine years, mainly in the styles of Modern and Hip Hop. He majored in Art Education with a minor in dance at Salem State College, and was a Creative and Performing Arts Scholar. He has also participated in Salem State's Repertory Dance Theatre as a dancer, choreographer, and as a board member for six years. When not in studio Mr. Scott is employed at Eastern Bank.

Alessa Haefner

Alessa Haefner has been dancing at Dance Class since the age of three. She started assisting multiple classes when she was fourteen years old. She has studied & taught Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Lyrical, Competition teams, Company & Hip-Hop. She was a member of Dance Class Company performing at many nursing homes, parades, hospitals. Alessa has competed in several Dance Competitions. She has been to multiple dance conventions, performed at Disney as well as the Boston Celtics games. She has taught many wedding parties and bachelorette parties. Aside from her career as a dance instructor, Alessa is also works as a Dental Assistant. She is currently advancing her career by attending school to receive her Dental Hygiene Associates degree. She is engaged to be married in September of 2010 and has a one year old son Ben.
